Caillou Back for Season Two

Caillou, the top-Rated PBS KIDS series from CINAR, is back with 16 all-new learning and growing adventures with the inquisitive four-year-old who explores some of the building blocks of pre-school learning. The series blends animation with live-action segments featuring puppets and real kids.

The new season begins today with “Knowing How,” in which Caillou tries his best to teach his little sister, Rosie, the alphabet. Then Caillou finds he has a secret admirer in “People I Love” set to air on Valentine’s Day, Feb., 14. Eight additional Caillou episodes premiere in the fall of 2003.

Developed closely with noted child psychologist, Margie Gollick, Ph. D., the new Caillou episodes touch upon different learning-based themes each month. February covers ABCs and 123s, while May invites kids to “Come Play With Me” and July teaches the importance of “An Apple A Day.” Then in October, the lesson is “Please & Thank You.”

This season, PBS KIDS and CINAR Corp. will kick off “Come Learn With Caillou!,” an education-based, multi-media campaign featuring four themed on-air promos designed to reinforce the lessons in season two. The new 30-second spots will be made available on-air and online to PBS stations nationwide starting in February. Complementary outreach materials for parents and educators will be available online at and through local PBS stations.
