Buena Vista International Television (BVITV) has announced a set of deals made at DISCOP, a European TV market event in Budapest, Hungary. Adding to the significant growth of the company’s licensing activity across Central and Eastern European territories, the transactions include a multi-genre licensing agreement for the broadcast of features and Fox Kids Europe programming on the Croatian commercial channel Nova TV.
Nova TV viewers in Croatia will be able to watch a variety of recent and library features, including the CG-laden dragon flick Reign of Fire and the blockbuster Pearl Harbor. Also included in the feature package are the Walt Disney Pictures family comedies The Santa Clause and Flubber.
In a separate agreement introduced by BVITV, Nova TV has also licensed more than 120 episodes of Fox Kids Europe animated and live-action programming, which will include the series Power Rangers: Wild Force and Power Rangers: Ninja Storm. The channel already carries a Fox Kids branded timeslot of programming. BVITV services the distribution of the Fox Kids Europe portfolio of programming, which also includes classic Marvel characters such as Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk, and the recent titles PUCCA and Sonic X.
Buena Vista International Television (BVITV) has also concluded an agreement with Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME) for the licensing of films, live action series and documentaries in Slovenia. Programming to be broadcast on the commercial channels POP TV and Kanal A includes the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced features Pearl Harbor, Remember the Titans and Bad Company, as well as director Wes Anderson’s critically acclaimed The Royal Tenenbaums and the family hit The Princess Diaries.
