Bounty Hamster Nabs U.K. Airtime

April 14, 2003 by Ryan Ball divider image

Bounty Hamster, a quirky animated comedy co-produced by Peafur Prods. and Silver Fox Films for Winchester Television and CiTV, premiered Jan. 9th on CiTV. Described as “True Grit in space with a moronic blue hamster instead of John Wayne,” the series will soon make its way to Cartoon Network Italy, Disney Channel France and ABC Australia.

Aimed at kids 8-12, Bounty Hamster chronicles the adventures of a six-inch tall hamster named Marion (John Wayne’s real first name), who fancies himself the meanest, toughest, roughest blue hamster in the universe. When Earth girl Cassie hires him to find her missing father in the vastness of space, a mismatched duo is born.
