If you were thinking of an animated way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend, how about tuning in to Boomerang Johnny Bravo marathon, from 2 to 8:30 p.m. on the cabler? In honor of the romantic holiday, Boomerang is serving up six-and-a-half hour commercial-free marathon of the comic casaonva’s adventures. The marathon will culminate with the network premiere of the special, It’s Valentine’s Day, Johnny Bravo at 8 p.m.
In this special outing, viewers find out that Valentine’s Day is also Johnny Bravo’s birthday. Things turn out not quite as planned when his mom sets Johnny up on a blind date. The episode features eclectic guest voices such as Molly Shannon, Joe McIntyre, Maureen McCormick and Donny Osmond.
Johnny Bravo was created by Van Partible, premiered on Cartoon Network in 1997 and ran for 65 episodes and four seasons. The series officially ended in 2004. The narcissistic toon hero was voiced by actor Jeff Bennett.
