Angelina Ballerina Makes Encore Performances

Five new episodes of the series Angelina Ballerina will begin airing this May on PBS. Produced by HIT Entertainment and animated by Grand Slamm Children’s Films, the series is based on the beloved Angelina Ballerina children’s books written by Katharine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig.

Launched in May 2002 to critical acclaim, Angela Ballerina features the voices of Finty Williams in the title role and Academy Award winner Dame Judi Dench as Miss Lilly. The first of the new episodes will include an animated story titled The Proposal, which will showcase the voice of renowned actor Sir Derek Jacobi.

Each episode contains two 11-minute animated stories plus a special 2 1/2-minute live-action dance segment featuring students from London’s Royal Academy of Dance.

PBS stations nationwide will begin airing the series the weekend of May 3. Check your local listings.
