Aardman Rights is set to preview at MIPCOM Jr. the pilot to its new animated preschooler series Ploo.

The stop-motion series will consist of 52 10-minute episodes and is based on the popular Blue Nose Island books by Mick Inkpen. The books have been adapted by Jackie Cockle, the creator of Aardman’s hit Timmy Time series.

The series follows Ploo, who lives with his friends on Blue Nose Island, a cloud high in the sky that facilitates a playful approach to storytelling.

‘Having always loved Mick Inkpen’s beautiful books about Ploo’s adventures on Blue Nose Island I’m very excited to now be bringing them to life. The world of Blue Nose Island is magical, colorful, unusual and, very importantly, it’s fun,’ says Cockle. ‘Ploo’s world is calm and gentle but very intriguing and relatable to a pre-school audience who, like Ploo, are learning more about their world every day.’
