A Fairy Dog Debuts on ‘Fairly OddParents’

Butch Hartman’s long-running animated series The Fairly OddParents is getting a new pooch on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. The spanking-new character is called Sparky and will debut on the episode “Fairly Odd Pet,” on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

In the new episode, Timmy adopts a mischievous and magical fairy dog named Sparky. However, owning a fairy dog proves to be a much bigger challenge than Timmy could have ever predicted. Sparky is voiced by Matt Taylor (T.U.F.F. Puppy, South Park).

Just looking at that dog makes me uncomfortable. I liked Poof and I enjoy his addition to the show, along with Foop. Sparky…makes me shudder.

So he already has 2 “fish” and will now be getting a dog? Wouldn’t his parents (but as “dumb” as they are) find it odd or suspicious? Well, unless Sparky’s being kept hidden from them completely.

You know a show is going downhill when they have to keep adding more new characters that will be frequent in the episodes (such as Poof.. no offense to those who like him and now Sparky).

And then they’ll reveal him to be a fairy god parent like in Harry Potter and the rat, and shit will then suddenly get real. Then it’ll be the temp episode all over, and people will be wondering if fairy world are in fact evil and are trying to take him away from his real parents…

Sparky seems like yet another cosmo/dad… It really is just more of the same character. A dim, somewhat spontaneous character that does things for even less reasons than the other ADHD characters of the show. They already had two, now there are three.
