YouTube’ subscription service Red is bulking up its original programming slate with the addition of Dallas & Robo — a new animated sci-fi comedy series from Shadowmachine studio (Robot Chicken, BoJack Horseman) and featuring the voices of wrestling superstar/actor John Cena and 2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings. The eight-episode first season will debut in 2018.
Cena plays a warrior-poet named Robo with Dennings as sassy space trucker Dallas — together, they travel the cosmos evading cannibal bikers, rival truckers and vengeful vending machine burritos as they try to make a few bucks in the seedy interplanetary big-rigging biz.
The voice cast also features Jane Lynch, Dana Snyder, Giancarlo Esposito, Clancy Brown, Bree Williamson, Nat Faxon, Taran Killam and Milana Vayntrub.
Roberts also serves as executive producer, along with series writers Matt Mariska (Robot Chicken) and Andy Sipes (Archer), and Cena.
