DHX Media has teamed up with innovative music, video and film distribution company The Orchard to serve up more than 8,000 episodes of DHX’s library content, along with newly produced and acquired series over course of the multi-year electronic sell-through (EST) agreement. The deal covers the U.S., Latin America, South Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, in multiple languages. Orchard will also be the worldwide digital distributor of over 2,000 tracks of children’s music from the DHX library.
The EST deal handily expands The Orchard’s reach in children’s and family entertainment, with the distributor taking on leading series from DHX such as Caillou, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Teletubbies, Inspector Gadget, Super WHY!, Johnny Test and more. Digital music distribution acquired in the deal will include tunes from Caillou, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, The Doodlebops, Strawberry Shortcake and others. The Orchard has deals with key digital movie and TV storefronts, reaching 200 million-plus paying customers through iTunes, Comcast, DirecTV, DISH, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Sony, M-GO, Vudu, Google Play, et al.
