Oregon3D Inc., the Center for Visualization Technologies, announced that Mark Noland has been appointed educational director for Oregon3D and Phillip Guzzo has been appointed Associate educational director. Noland and Guzzo are both certified discreet instructors for 3ds max, flint, flame and smoke and have created a high-end discreet systems lab at Oregon3D.
Noland has worked in nearly every area of digital imaging including web, print, game, film and video production. In 1997, he founded Mercury Studios, where he acted as a producer and director for clients such as Fox Sports, The Golf Channel, one of the world’s largest chip manufacturers and two local world-class shoe manufacturers.
Guzzo joins Oregon3D from Vinton Studios, where he worked as a flame and combustion compositor on projects such as The PJ’s, the Gary and Mike TV series, a Powerpuff Girls music video and the M&M’s commercial campaign. Prior to joining Vinton in 1997, Phil worked for Fox Broadcasting, co-directed an independent feature film and has done animation and compositing on games and music videos.
