The Vancouver Film School and French ani ecol’ Supinfocom are melding their cultures, methodologies and resources to offer top 3D animation students the opportunity for international training. Both schools have top-rated 3D animation programs.
Scholarships for post-graduate studies will be offered to two top graduates of each school. The intention is for the winners to gain the experience, education and culture of training at another internationally respected learning institution over a six-month period. ‘(It’s a) very exciting opportunity for our students,’ says VFS managing director Marty Hasselbach. ‘Our school focuses on individual 3D or visual effects project development and Supinfocom uses a group project production model.’
Founded in 1988 on the initiative of the chamber of commerce and industry of the Valenciennes region, Supinfocom specializes in computer graphics and multimedia. They train ‘digital directors’, who work as a team from the scriptwriting to the post-production phase of training.
‘This partnership will provide our students with an excellent opportunity to widen their skills and have contacts with prestigious companies in Canada,’ says Supinfocom head Marie-Anne Fontenier.
