for me, there are several ways to help me with the acting aspect of my animation. beginning with body movement, i had to learn to not be afraid to act out what movement i might need. then, with facial expressions, if acting it out doesn't cut it, i look at animation books or an animated movie or short that i know will have what i am looking for or i will watch a live action film with a particular actor who conveys the emotion that i need. rick lasse-student animator

Personally, I'm not a fantastic actor... but there are many others who are. So when I need a certain emotion or action to come across in my animation, I will research a shot (animated or live action) where they successfully pull off what I am trying to express. With time and experience, I would also like to think that acting will begin to kick-in a bit more natural. Dan Segarra - Animator
