On May 4, Cartoon Network will unveil the new Looney Tunes Show, which features newly designed versions of classic characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd. What is your gut reaction to this new offering? Are you excited to see these familiar faces on TV?

Judging by the designs and the clips on Youtube. I think that this is going to be a disgrace to the classic character we know and love. I remember reading an article about it and the Looney Tunes Show was called an animated Seinfeld. I like Seinfeld and I love Looney Tunes… they do not need to be mixed. I hope it fails and Warner Bros learn their lesson. And if they want to continue to make new Looney Tunes, please stick to the formula that works. Please refer to Chuck Jones, he perfected it.

Tiny Toons did more damage to the brand than this will.

I saw a clip on YouTube and wasn’t impressed. Bugs looked like a bobblehead and they really dumbed down Daffy. Instead of trying to re-create Looney Tunes, just re-broadcast the originals… they’ll never be made better… just stop trying.

I might’ve been down for this show in theory but I haven’t been impressed with what I’ve seen. I wouldn’t be against a new Looney Tunes show at all if it was handled properly and with respect to the originals…but I’m not getting that vibe.

And I don’t get the new character designs at all…they changed them just enough to be different and that’s it. What’s the point of that…not that I would want to see these characters completely overhauled anyway…but why change them at all if you’re not gonna do something interesting. The original designs still look good why mess with that?
