Question for the week of October 04, 2007

In a bid to achieve international appeal and cater to new media platforms, a lot of producers are making cartoons that rely more on visual gags than dialogue these days. Do think this trend will usher in a return to the old-school approach to animation?

I think the producers are certainly moving towards old school. The cg animation although has progressed a long way but it still lacks the lustre of the old school animation. So I think there trying to catch up to the old school and making content more multi lingual as well as engaging. Many of the shorts produced by students and hobbyists already have used this idea. It also can actually cut down cost a bit.
