MIPCOM attendees involved all genres of programming for traditional, new and emerging broadcast and delivery platforms are invited to set appointments for the MIPCOM Accelerator Matchmaking Event - Brazil is Open for Business!, scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the Brazilian Pavilion, Level 01, Booth 02.41.

At the event, the Brazilian entertainment community's top decision makers, producers and broadcasters will be on hand to share their rich experience and achievements in the production industry along with details on how to take advantage of Brazil's enticing tax incentives, direct funding and co-production opportunities.
In a recent issue of leading international news magazine, Newsweek, fit was stated that Brazil is "... the crafty 'Superpower' amongst the new world economy." Established in 2004, BTVP promotes the Brazilian independent audiovisual production in the international market. As a result of its efforts, Brazil is currently seen as an important market and is part of the co-production business plan of several international broadcasters and production companies. Silvio Da-Rin, Audiovisual Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; Bruno Amado, Manager of Brazilian TV Producers at Apex-Brasil; Fernando Dias, President of ABPI-TV; and Eliana Russi, Executive Manager of BTVP; were responsible for the program.
Jacques Bensimon is the Senior International Strategic Consultant at Brazilian TV Producers. Formerly, Bensimon has served as president of the National Film Board of Canada - NFB, vice-president of the International Association of Education and Discovery Television Companies - AITED, associate member of International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences NY - NATAS, member of the board at TV5 EUA and honorary member of Toronto Cercle Canadien. He is currently a board member of Banff Television Foundation - BTVF, which promotes events such as Banff TV Festival, The World Congress of Science Producers, The World Congress of History Producers and the executive program Alliance-Atlantis. He worked at TFO, developing partnerships with Arte France Television, La Cinquième, WGBH e BBC. He was knighted Chevalier de la Ordre des Artes e des Lettres by the French government, HE was granted an honorary doctorate by the University of York in Toronto Most recently, he received the Governor's General "Order of Canada" for his overall contribution to the audiovisual Field.

BTVP enables commercial partnerships between Brazilian and foreign companies (through co-productions, sales and pre-sales to TV channels, internet, mobile telephony and new media) and offers support by such famous international consultant as Jacques Bensimon .
In just five years, the program has facilitated the execution of over 50 TV projects in partnership with 12 countries (Germany, Canada, Spain, U.S.A., France, India, England, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, Chezh Republic and Singapore). BTVP has participated in more than 61 events including: Ottawa, Annecy, Kidscreen, MIPTV and MIPCOM, in nine different countries (Russia, France, Germany, Japan, China, U.S.A., Canada, Argentina and Spain).
The total volume of closed businesses amounts to more than US$ 70 million and to date, Brazilian productions have been aired in 118 countries.
