It was the media and industry event of 2009. This year's award ceremony for the most innovative consumer electronics, electrical devices as well as for sports and lifestyle products far exceeded the expectations of its organizers: several hundred of the most important international top decision makers from industry, retail and media gathered on May 19th in the Congress Centre North of Koelnmesse to experience live the award ceremony presented by TV SPIELFILM for the world's largest technology, sports and lifestyle contest.
More than 260 products from 13 different industries were awarded - from the most innovative flat screens, the latest digital camera generation, multimedia cell phones that can be used for a variety of different applications, from the most environmentally friendly fully automated washing machines to especially functional sports clothing - and were awarded the Plus X Award seal for exceptional achievements in the categories Innovation, High Quality, Design, Ease of Use/Functionality, Ergonomics and Ecology.
"This year, the Plus X Award Night is being held for the third time in the Cologne exhibition center. This is not only yet another reason that shows just how comfortable the creative minds feel here in Cologne, but is also a good indication of how well the Plus X Award collaborates with Koelnmesse. Each time it has been held, the Award Night has been one of the most impressive events in the range of event programs we have to offer", said the Chief Executive Officer of the Koelnmesse Gerald Böse in his opening speech.
