COMING TO DVD JULY 28, 2009

Actress Juliet Landau, a fanboy favorite from her devious appearances on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, easily glides into the voice of sultry alien Labella in Green Lantern: First Flight, the next DC Universe animated original PG-13 movie coming to DVD on July 28, 2009.

Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation are set to release the all-new Green Lantern: First Flight in a Blu-Ray™ Hi-Def edition, a special edition 2-disc DVD, and a single disc DVD. Warner Home Video will distribute the action-packed movie, which will also be available OnDemand and Pay-Per-View as well as available for download day and date, July 28, 2009.

Landau is best known for her portrayal of vampire Drusilla in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. She initially turned heads with standout performances in Tim Burton's Ed Wood and opposite Whoopi Goldberg in Theodore Rex; she has done oodles of voiceover work, including recurring roles on Justice League Unlimited and Ben 10: Alien Force; and she has three upcoming films in various stages of production.

Turning her attention behind the camera, Landau has received notable praise for her initial pair of directing gigs. She helmed Take Flight, a documentary centering on the creative process of actor/director Gary Oldman, which drew rave reviews at a recent advance screening. Her co-direction of the Godhead music video, Hero, is garnering widespread Internet acclaim. She also has been busy at the keyboard, co-writing the Drusilla story line for the Angel comic books as well as scripting It's Raining Cats and Cats, a short film in which she intends to play seven different roles.

Christopher Meloni provides the voice of Hal Jordan, the alter ego of the title character in Green Lantern: First Flight. Landau offers a Cajun-style vocal performance for Labella, a mistress of the seedier side of the universe in which the Green Lantern Corps patrol. Landau and Meloni have worked closely together in the past, starring as brother and sister in the 1999 award-winning independent film Carlo's Wake.

Pinky and Perky to Star in CD Rom Game

PPC Enterprises has revealed that phenomenally successful porcine pair Pinky and Perky are due to appear in their very own CD Rom game from Avanquest - one of the biggest publishers of computer games in the UK.

The Pinky and Perky Show has proved to be a huge smash hit since debuting on CBBC in November 2008. Ratings were so high that the show had a rapid transition onto BBC1 and the first series is now available on DVD, with repeats stripped across the BBC this spring/summer. The show is set to air on France 3 and ABC in Australia later this year, with sales also confirmed in the Nordics.

The pair have proved to be just as much of a hit in licensing terms - licensing agent PPCE has already signed up Martin Yaffe to produce a wide range of superb Pinky and Perky toys that are set to hit the market in autumn/winter 2009 - these include a Pinky and Perky megaphone, Pinky and Perky walkie-talkie headsets, a sing-a-long microphone, joke sets, inflatable chairs, and a remote controlled car.

Texas Rangers Open at Home With Keyframe's Content

BROOKINGS, S.D. - May 19, 2009
      The Texas Rangers contracted Keyframe to produce creative content for their video displays, including four new Daktronics displays, in Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for the 2009 baseball season. Content was delivered and on display during the Rangers home opener on April 6th versus the Cleveland Indians.
      "We've worked with Keyframe in the past so it was a natural choice for us to work with them this year," said Chuck Morgan of the Texas Rangers. "They (Keyframe) have worked with many other ball clubs, have a good idea of what people like and know what it takes to produce for a major league game. They're easy to work with, understand what we need and turn it around quickly."
      Content provided came in the form of statistical layouts, crowd prompts, sponsor ads, a unique look for the outfield fence display, backgrounds, colors, fonts and text. All of which gelled together to form an overall home field appearance for the Rangers.
      Morgan spoke of the content produced by Keyframe: "It was outstanding. It changed the entire atmosphere of the ballpark. They included tons of information on our out-of-town board and outfield fence board that looks great."
      Work with the Rangers began in February with everything being completed in time for the home opener. Keyframe is still in the process of creating more content to enhance the home game experience at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Twelve Action-Driven Hours of Original Animated Series Hail Start of Summer on Monday, May 25, 12 p.m.-12a.m.



               Fighting for truth, justice and the last slice of pizza, the D.C. Comics Teen Titans are five super heroes who are living proof that you're never too young to save the planet.  Twenty-nine hand-selected episodes of the hit animated series will air uninterrupted over 12 hours on the commercial-free Boomerang network, Monday, May 25, starting at 12 noon and culminating at 12 a.m. (ET).  Teen Titans originally premiered on Cartoon Network in 2003 to great viewer and critical acclaim, making the series an instant classic for younger generations and a TV favorite for comic book fans of all ages.

Based on the long-running DC Comics series, Teen Titans features five teenage superheroes who each exhibit special powers.  The team is led by Robin, the acrobatic and daring group leader with a stocked utility belt and no fear.  Beast Boy, small in stature and quick with a joke, can shift into the form of any animal, from a tiger to a Tyrannosaurus Rex.  Starfire is new to Earth and naïve to its ways, but when it is time for a throw-down, she fights as hard as any of the others.  The spooky, deadpan Raven can control inanimate objects with her powerful mental abilities.  Hulking Cyborg is half-man, half-machine and the most powerful member of the team.

[MONTEREY, CA]     The Monterey Museum of Art presents the enchanting exhibition Over Rainbows and Down Rabbit Holes: The Art of Children's Books which will be on view Saturday, July 11 through Sunday, September 13, 2009 at MMA La Mirada, 720 Via Mirada, Monterey. Over Rainbows and Down Rabbit Holes: The Art of Children's Books is a delightful presentation featuring approximately seventy original illustrations from well-known children's books. The exhibition is drawn from the outstanding collection of picture book art assembled by Zora and Les Charles and was organized by the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in collaboration with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, Amherst, Massachusetts.
 
Classics in this exhibition include The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, The House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne and illustrated by Ernest Shepard and The Travels of Babar by Jean de Brunhoff. Works by Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and Kay Nielsen represent the earlier golden age of illustration, while the majority of examples focus on the flowering of the genre by artists and authors working in the post-World War II period. Trina Schart Hyman (Little Red Riding Hood), Chris Van Allsburg (Jumanji) and husband and wife team Leo and Diane Dillon (Earth Mother) are among the contemporary illustrators represented. These enchanting original works will inspire the imagination and celebrate the creativity of picture books for readers of all ages. The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue co-published by Santa Barbara Museum of Art and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art which will be available in the Museum Store.

Jack Ford Steps Down As Executive Vice President and Managing Director
 
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (30 April 2009) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) announced today that Kylie Munnich has been promoted to vice president, distribution, Australia and New Zealand.  In her new position, Munnich heads all of SPT's licensing operations for both countries.  Based in Sydney, she heads the local team responsible for the licensing of SPT's television series and feature films to television, mobile and digital clients.  She reports to Ross Pollack, SPT's senior Vice president, distribution, Asia.
 
Jack Ford, SPT's executive vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand, will step down from his executive roles with the company.  He will remain as a consultant for the immediate future and will work with Munnich during the transition period.  Since 1995, Ford has played an integral role in building SPT's businesses in Australia and New Zealand.  Besides managing SPT's licensing business, he has also played a critical role in launching several successful cable channels, including TV1, Sci Fi and Premium Movie Partnership.

Spanish creative factory Zinkia has inked a merchandising deal for Spain with shoe designer and manufacturer Crocs, which sees the launch of a range of kids' shoes featuring top pre-school character Pocoyo.
 
The kids' Crocs, available in blue or pink, will hit the shelves in Spain in May 2009, and feature the eponymous Pocoyo on the white heel strap. This is the latest product line in an extensive range of merchandising and licensing goods based on the CGI animated series co-produced by Zinkia and ITV Global Entertainment.
 
Since the series debuted on TVE in October 2006, Pocoyo has become the number one pre-school property in Spain. Pocoyo currently airs on TVE2, where it achieved a 46% share amongst 4-6 year olds. On the toy front, master toy licensee Bandai has shifted over 1.5million toys in Spain, whilst Big Picture, which handles home entertainment in Spain and Portugal, has sold over 1 million units. The publishing sector is also performing well, with Planeta, which handles publishing rights in Spain, selling over half a million books to date.

Study Shows Greatest Skill Enhancement for Children from Low-Income Families
 
Arlington, VA, May 6, 2009 - Two new studies on the highly rated, award-winning PBS KIDS series Super WHY! prove that children, especially those from low-income families, are learning core early literacy skills from the TV series and its educational support materials.  The studies were funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) through a cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Education's Ready To Learn Grant.  The first study conducted by the Annenberg School for Communication, at the University of Pennsylvania, assessed the TV series' abilities to help boost preschoolers' early literacy skills ranging from knowledge of the alphabet to letter sounds and reading comprehension. The second study evaluated how children learn from the series content via Super WHY! five day reading camps where children were invited to take a hands-on approach to applying the Super Readers reading lessons into their daily lives.  Super WHY! is part  of the PBS KIDS Raising Readers initiative, which uses multiplatform content and targeted, local community engagement activities to help increase literacy skills for children ages 2-to-8, especially those from low-income families.
 
The Annenberg study, which was headed by Deborah L. Linebarger, Ph.D., Director of the Annenberg Children's Media Lab, determined whether young viewers learned the key early literacy content in the show, such as letter names and sounds, rhyming, and matching spoken words to print and whether they applied their learning in their daily lives.  "Learning to read begins early on in a child's life," said Dr. Linebarger, "and children need multiple experiences with storytelling and language in which to do so.     The format of Super WHY! provides them with an engaging platform that fosters literacy skills, resulting in learning the content featured in the program as well as applying that content to other contexts."

public during the Licensing International Expo held in Las Vegas, USA this June. 
 
"GON" is a fictional character in a shape of a small dinosaur with unimaginable power and speed. 
The story takes place in the wild where GON goes through each uproarious day with other animals. 
  
Originally created by Tanaka Masashi (田中政志) in 1992 on a Kodansha's weekly cartoon
magazine 'Morning', GON got much attention from the fans worldwide with its detailed drawing of
various animal characters, very much like that of real life. It was especially known for its story-telling
where no dialogues and no human ever appear throughout the entire story, relying only on the
images.  This was a never been done method that caught everyone's attention.  However it
maintained to be fresh and funny, keeping its core message.

London: 1st May 2008: Leading preschool TV channel, Playhouse Disney, today announced its best ever quarterly performance in the UK. The channel doubled its share year on year to 1.8%* and attracted 5.8 million viewers between January and March 2009, up 14% on the previous year.

This positive trend has continued in April, with Playhouse Disney achieving its best ever weekly share among kids at 2.3%**, beating the channel's main competitor, Nick Jr, for the first time, and making Playhouse Disney the UK's number one preschool channel in pay-TV.

April also saw the channel's best ever launch with animated preschool series Special Agent Oso, which premiered on Saturday 4th April at 9:50am. After more than 80 animated episodes of the Adult Swim hit Aqua Teen Hunger Force, creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis have developed the first-ever live-action episode.  To mark the occasion, they turned to none-other-than Grammy-winning southern soulster and rapper T-Pain to portray the Aqua Teen's only sane and rational roommate Frylock, whose animated form looks much like a floating box of French fries.  Starring as the Aqua Teen's self-appointed leader Master Shake will be actor Jon Benjamin.  The lovable and remarkably stupid Meatwad will be live as well but bare a striking resemblance to an exercise ball, and first-time television actor Dave Long Jr. has been tapped to play the Aqua Teen's obnoxious neighbor Carl after a lengthy nationwide search.  The new season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which continues throughout May on Sunday nights, will conclude with this first-ever live-action episode on Sunday, May 31 at 11:45 p.m. (ET/PT).
Grammy-winning singer-song-writer-producer--and actor--T-Pain burst on the music scene in 2005 and has produced and written a plethora of chart-topping and platinum-selling singles.  In addition to the Grammy, T-Pain has garnered "Songwriter of the Year" and "Producer of the Year" honors at the BMI Urban Awards and earned a BET Award.  His self-produced third album, THR33 RINGZ, was released last November, debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

Grupo Televisa and Sesame Workshop encourage children: tell a parent if you feel sick, wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze.
 
(Mexico City, MÉXICO and New York, NEW YORK; April 29, 2009) - Beyond teaching letters and numbers, Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street and Plaza Sésamo, is known for its consistently honest and brave approach to tough subjects.  As news and concern about a potential swine flu pandemic originating in Mexico City reaches around the world, today is no exception.  Production partners for over 35 years, Televisa, México's largest producer and terrestrial broadcaster, and Sesame Workshop have produced four public service announcements (PSAs) featuring the beloved Muppets of Plaza Sésamo Pancho and Lola as well as Mexican celebrities Lucero, Jorge Poza and Adrián Uribe, all of whom donated their time to the cause.  Plaza Sésamo's Education and Research team worked with México's Ministry of Health on developing the scripts which present the following important messages:
 
Tell a parent if you feel sick so they can take you to the doctor.  Don't go to school or outside where there are people who might catch your sickness.
 
It is important to cover your mouth with a tissue or your arm if you sneeze or cough.  Be sure to throw away the tissue and cover the trash can, too!
 
Wash your hands with soap and clean water several times throughout the day for at least 20 seconds.
 
The PSAs began airing on Televisa this morning.

WINTER PARK, FL, April 29, 2009 - The Orlando Magic (www.orlandomagic.com) and Full Sail University (www.fullsail.edu) announced the winning teams of a re-branding design contest exclusive to Full Sail students, to develop a new and creative graphics package to be featured at the games throughout the season.  Two teams of students were selected for their motion graphics work, which was unveiled last week during the NBA playoffs at the Amway Arena.   

The Orlando Magic accepted proposals from Full Sail University student teams representing degree programs including: Digital Arts & Design, Computer Animation, Graphic Design, and Entertainment Business. Students competed to create the text and graphics for the offense and defense, as well as general noise prompts, to play on the Jumbotron to energize fans at the Orlando Magic home games.

The winning teams are comprised of six students including: Dustin Bankord, Juan Colon, Tyler Joynt, Ron Monahan, Jose Ramirez and Jared Sanders.  "Each student that entered the contest was able to further their academic reach with real world experience in the industry - this time working with a national brand," said Pete Bandstra, Program Director of Computer Animation and Game Art.  "The partnership they have created with the Orlando Magic has added significant professional credits for their portfolios before graduation."

BURBANK, CA, (April 29, 2008) - The street date for Green Lantern: First Flight, the fifth entry in the popular DVD series of DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movies, has shifted to July 28, 2009.  A co-production of Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation, the illuminated hero's first-ever full-length animated film will be distributed by Warner Home Video.  Green Lantern: First Flight will be available as a special edition 2-disc version on DVD and Blu-Ray™ Hi-Def for $24.98 (SRP) and $29.99 (SRP), respectively, as well as single disc DVD for $19.98 (SRP).

The story of when Doomsday attacked Metropolis is a tragic one.  During Doomsday's rampage, an epic battle erupted on the streets of Metropolis where neither Superman nor Doomsday would back down. Superman knew Doomsday's rage would fuel the fight driving the battle on as Superman continued to weaken, incurring severe wounds which began to drain his stamina. In the end, the two combatants attacked each other simultaneously with a fatal blow, leaving both lifeless in front of The Daily Planet Building - perfectly situated for a cover story that would shatter the world.

CHICAGO (April 29, 2009)-- Harry Potter: The Exhibition will make its world premiere on April 30, 2009, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, the only Midwest location on the exhibit's U.S. tour.  The exhibition, which will offer fans a firsthand look inside the boy wizard's magical world and the opportunity to experience the amazing craftsmanship of more than 200 authentic costumes and props from the Harry Potter films, will be on view in Chicago until September 27, 2009.

Stuttgart - The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film will be taking place from May 5 - May 10, 2009. At its heart are 650 very different films. The Festival now awards prize money totalling 57,500 Euro in eight competition categories. Bettina Zimmermann, Benno Fürmann, Christoph Maria Herbst und Bastian Pastewka are in the running for the newly-created Award for the Best Voice Actor in a Feature-length Animated Film.

intelligence (AI) middleware for the "America's Army 3" computer game.
