Pangbourne, UK, 26 March 2009, www.marquisbroadcast.com: Marquis Broadcast, specialist in broadcast workflow studies and software solutions, and SeaChange International, a leading global supplier of high-definition and standard-definition broadcast playout and workflow solutions, will be demonstrating a faster-than-realtime, DNxHD-based workflow solution at NAB 2009 using Marquis' Medway media transfer and format conversion software integrated with SeaChange's new generation BML play-to-air storage servers within an Avid production environment.
Visitors to the SeaChange booth (SU12009) will see media files being transferred seamlessly from an Avid Media Composer editing system to the SeaChange server, and played back in native DNxHD. Medway will provide the media highway between the systems, enabling media to move freely without the need for transcoding. The software uses a simple drag and drop GUI to move media files and associated metadata at full network speed without the delays that frequently occur when media is transferred between different hardware and software platforms.
"The Medway system seamlessly integrates the nonlinear postproduction environment with the SeaChange play-to-air platform, creating a range of business efficiencies and benefits for our customers as they continue to migrate to tapeless HD production and playout workflows," said Stephane Jauroyou, director of product marketing for broadcast, SeaChange.
"Broadcasters want maximum productivity from their processes and need to ensure data is being transferred between systems as fast as possible," said Granby Patrick, CEO, Marquis Broadcast. "By working with leading manufacturers like SeaChange to integrate Medway with their products, we ensure that broadcasters world wide can benefit from the advantages of a cost-effective and highly efficient universal media highway."
Designed specifically to meet the demands of the most challenging broadcasting and television production environments, Medway is also suitable for newsroom, ingest, encoding, transcoding, asset management, editing, broadcast automation and finishing systems, and playout servers.
Availability
Medway-supported SeaChange servers are available immediately through SeaChange's worldwide distribution network.
