Ward Named President of LucasArts

Jim Ward, head of marketing and distribution for Lucasfilm, has been appointed president of video game division LucasArts, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The move is reportedly part of an operational streamlining process that will see Ward continue to fulfill his obligations at Lucasfilm while assuming his new duties in the interactive realm.

With a hand in both the film and game divisions, Ward will oversee the Sept. 21 simultaneous releases of the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD and the interactive title Star Wars Battlefront. He has been with Lucasfilm since 1997.
