Veteran visual-effects supervisor Boyd Stepan will head up the new visual effects unit at independent post-production house Chainsaw.

Stepan comes to Chainsaw from Prime Focus/Post Logic Studios, where he was a lead visual-effects supervisor. His credits include the feature films Avatar and Inglorious Basterds as well as TV series Desperate Housewives and AMC’s upcoming The Walking Dead.

Stepan will be responsible for growing and supervising the visual-effects department at Chainsaw, as well as doing hands-on work for clients.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to join a company that is growing, that understands today’s technology and the evolving needs of clients, and has a commitment to high quality work,” said Stepan.
