Prescillano Romanillos, an animator whose worked on Disney and DreamWorks features from The Little Mermaid through Shrek Forever After, died Saturday from leukemia. He was 47.
Romanillos broke into the business in the late 1980s, working as an animation trainee. Working his way up, he became supervising animator of Shan-Yu in Disney’s Mulan and Little Creek in the DreamWorks feature Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
Romanillos suffered from leukemia and recently suffered a relapse.
An enthusiastic and well-liked animator, Romanillos’ last work was for Shrek Forever After, released this spring.
