HIT Restructures Brand and Marketing Teams

In its efforts to streamline and strengthen the company for future growth, kid TV producer and distributor HIT Ent. has consolidated its U.S. brand and marketing teams under the leadership of chief marketing officer Matt Bostwick. The company has also created two new positions by promoting Christina Miller to senior V.P. of global creative, and Nicole Blake to VP of global marketing. In addition, veteran consumer products exec. Jamie Cygielman has been appointed to senior V.P. of HIT’s U.S. Brand Business Group.

Miller, who has served as V.P. of product development for HIT Ent. in the U.S., will spearhead the company’s worldwide product development efforts and the creation of marketing tools, in addition to managing the company’s internet activities.

Reporting to Miller, Blake will provide messaging and creative direction for HIT’s brands and products worldwide. Blake was formerly director of marketing for HIT Ent., U.S.

Cygielman joins HIT from Mattel, where she served as V.P. of marketing for the global Barbie franchise. Prior to her years at Mattel, she was a senior brand exec. with Revlon. In her new role at HIT, she will oversee the team-based brand business organization, as well as HIT’s domestic marketing and its Latin American business operation.

In another promotion, Peter Yoder has been named director of the U.S. brand team for Thomas & Friends and Angelina Ballerina. Formerly manager of the team, Yoder assumes full P&L responsibility for these brands in the U.S.

In addition to Angelina Ballerina and Thomas & Friends, HIT Ent. controls all rights for such popular children’s properties as Barney, Bob the Builder, Kipper and Pingu. In the U.S. and Canada, HIT also distributes the popular preschool property The Wiggles. Its new animated preschool series, Rubbadubbers, will make its U.S. broadcast launch on Nick Jr. in September 2003.
