Portfolio Entertainment has recruited Louis Fournier to the newly created role of VP of sales and acquisitions.

Fournier will be responsible for the sales direction for the company’s distribution arm, as well as to expand the acquisition of international distribution rights to factual and lifestyle programs. He will work with the company’s co-founders and co-CEOs Joy Rosen and Lisa Olfman.

Fournier most recently was a media consultant after a stint as VP of business development at Tribal Nova. He also was president of Galakids and two stints at CINAR, where he rose to VP of sales and distribution and worked on marketing the programs Arthur, Caillou and Mona the Vampire. He also was president of the youth an animation unit at TVA International, where he was executive producer on such series as Popular Mechanics for Kids and Bellflower Bunnies.

‘I’m thrilled to join Portfolio Entertainment at this exciting time in the company’s growth,’ says Fournier. ‘I have tremendous respect for what Joy Rosen and Lisa Olfman have built over the years and look forward to being part of this talented and dedicated team.’
