Los Angeles, Calif.-based animation studio Duck has signed award-winning animator Jeff Drew to its roster of directors available for commercial work. Drew’s short film Walk has appeared in numerous festivals around the world, including Sundance and The IFP West Los Angeles Film Festival. In addition, he recently won the Audience Choice Award for Best Animation at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.
Drew has done numerous animated television spots that have appeared in the New Mexico area. He has also created several in-house animations for the Marshall Field’s department store in Chicago. His illustrations have appeared in a number of popular magazines across the USA, and he recently created a series of posters for the Target Corp. promoting literacy for kids.
The 1996 graduate of John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana received a bachelor’s degree in fine art and illustration. He later relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he discovered a little-known animation program at the local community college, TVI. Before long, he figured out how to translate his cut and paste style of illustration into animation, and created his award-winning short.
