CAKE Entertainment co-director Genevieve Dexter has decided to leave the company and has sold her majority stake in the company to co-director Tom van Waveren.

The move comes three years after the duo founded the London-based company and is amicable, according to a statement from the company, which was awarded the best investor honor at Cartoon Forum in 2009.

The company will continue operations as normal, with Ed Galton continuing to run distribution for CAKE.

The company’s recent successes include Total Drama Island and Total Drama Action, Skunk Fu!, Eliot Kid, King Arthur’s Disasters and Edgar & Ellen.

‘It’s been a very successful enterprise and I am very proud of what we have achieved as well as with the outcome of our agreement,’ said Dexter.

‘Genevieve’s contribution to the success of CAKE has obviously been considerable and I am grateful that she is entrusting the company to Ed Galton and myself going forward,’ said van Waveren.
