Ant Bully, Futurama Producer Johns Dies

Alex Johns, a producer whose credits include the animated feature The Ant Bully as well as more than 70 episodes of Futurama, died Aug. 7 in Los Angeles. He was 43.

According to Variety, Johns died from a long-term illness at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

Johns had a close working relationship with Matt Groening, who hired him on for Futurama and the 1999 animated holiday special Olive, the Other Reindeer.

He is survived by his mother and four brothers.
