U.K.-based Target Entertainment has struck a deal Dinamo as sole global agent for their new preschool show Abadas. Target will be responsible for global licensing, television sales and DVD, with the brand set to launch officially at Brand Licensing Europe this fall, where a preview clip will be available for viewing.

The show follows a boy named Ben who with his magical pop-up book is able to enter the world of Abadas and go on adventures with his friends Ela the Fox, Hari the Hippo and Seren the Bat, who help kids solve a visual word game through song, dance and comedy. Abadas is set to debut simultaneously on BBC’s CBeebies in England, BBC Alba in Scotland, S4C in Wales and RTE in Ireland on October 24.

Abadas is undoubtedly one of the most exciting preschool licenses of recent years,” said Target’s director of licensing and children’s acquisitions, Lindsay Pearl. “It has all the key ingredients of a successful property: charming characters, strong educational values, song, dance and challenging yet entertaining play patterns. We also think it presents a massive international opportunity as the programming could be used in different territories as a tool to teach a child a second language.”
