Shocker Toys Jams with Metalocalypse

Buffalo, New York-based Shocker Toys is heading to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with a new line of vinyl figures based on the [adult swim] animated series Metalocalypse. Other debuts from the company will include 6-inch action Figures and ‘Shockinis’ inspired by SCI FI Channel’s Stan Lee reality series Who Wants to be a Superhero, and the first wave of action figures for novelty rock group GWAR.

Fans will be able to stop by the Shocker Toys booth (#4517) to pick up their Metalocalypse Nathan Explosion and William Murderface Dethklok figures, each appearing in their ‘death’ stage makeup. Only 500 of each will be available for $20 apiece. The company will also be showcasing new kit designs for its flagship Shockini line of articulated figures, which a number of people use for stop-motion animation. Exclusive items will be given away each day of the convention.

Shocker Toys will participate in an hour-long panel discussion on Friday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. in room 4 at the San Diego Convention Center. Company heads Geoff Becket and Lance Buttiglieri will be joined by sculptors, licensors and Indie Spotlight comic creators as they discuss how Shocker got started and reveal new products in the works.

Making appearances at the Shocker booth will be comic-book creator and Monster House co-writer Rob Schrab, Fangoria Comics artists and Kevin Michaels, director of the film Vampira, who will offer an exclusive convention look at the Michael Madsen project Shifter.
