Scotland-based game developer and publisher Tsumanga Studios has branched out into creating a girl-targeted virtual world game based on the hugely popular Winx Club brand created by Rainbow. The global fairy phenomenon is the number one IP for girls across Europe and many other territories, and the original animated series (now in its fifth season and totaling 130 available episodes) is a huge licensing success for the studio encompassing branded DVDs, books, games, toys and clothing.

Tsumanga is working closely with Rainbow to design and co-produce the virtual world based on the series, which will be an interactive online world that allows girls aged 7-10 worldwide to play, collaborate, learn and discover. The game, which will be released for current gen mobile phones, tablets and web browsers in Fall 2013 and be preceded by a Winx app in the Spring, will be available in English, Italian, Russian and French initially. The Winx Club world will be free to play while offering subscriptions for premium content and extended game play.
