Mr Bean Gets Kid Book Deal
Entertainment Rights and publisher GE Fabbri have entered into a partnership to license the rights to Tiger Aspect Prods.’ The Animated Mr Bean for a series of interactive printed materials for kids. Mr Bean’s Amazing A to Z will see bumbling Brit Bean help children explore the world through the use of the alphabet.
GE Fabbri is printing 52 issues of A to Z and plans to begin its U.K. roll-out on Jan. 7, 2004, with other key markets to follow. The materials will be available on a subscription basis.
The weekly serial will explore different aspects of life using one particular letter of the alphabet, with text interspersed with photos, jokes and fun trivia facts. Each subscription will come with a free talking calculator and each edition, priced at ’1.85, will include a free pack of stickers.
GE Fabbri previously created licensed kids’ serials, known in the U.K. as partworks, for such well-known brands as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Rugrats and Angelina Ballerina.
