Magi-Nation Goes to Germany

Cookie Jar Ent. announced that Tele M’nchen Gruppe has licensed the exclusive rights for its animated action-adventure series Magi-Nation in key German-speaking territories. Tele M’nchen’s licensing and merchandising arm, CTM, will serve as the exclusive agent for the show in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux.

Based on the popular trading card game, Magi-Nation follows the adventures of Tony Jones, an average teen from Earth who finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of Magi-Nation. In these Moonlands, Tony befriends two young Magi heroes-in-training who join him on a journey to defeat the evil Shadow Magi, who are out to rule their world. Along with their trusty collection of Dream Creatures, these new friends must solve riddles, battle evil and discover the secrets hidden in each region’and within themselves.

Tele M’nchen Gruppe exploits audio-visual rights through its own distribution channels. Its activities include the production and acquisition of feature films, TV productions and classical music programs, as well as theatrical, video, broadcasting and merchandising distribution. The entity is a shareholder in the nationwide free TV-stations Tele 5 and RTLII in Germany, and ATV in Austria. In addition, Tele M’nchen Gruppe has partnerships in place with exhibition chain CinemaxX AG, post-production service provider CineMedia Film AG and content outlet On Demand Deutschland.

Magi-Nation is a co-production of Cookie Jar Ent. and Daewon Media of South Korea. The series airs on Kids WB! on The CW in the U.S. and on Canada’s CBC and Radio-Canada.
