The Japanese toy craze that became a popular Japanese animated series that became a hit U.S. animated series has now become a major U.S. toy craze. If you thought that sentence was dizzying, Hasbro Inc. has released sales figures for its Beyblade line of high performance spinning tops, which have sold more than five million units since hitting the U.S market in late 2001.
Due to the brand’s popularity, Hasbro and Toys "R" Us will host "Beyblade Rip Zone" events to give kids a place for organized Beyblade play. Fans will also get a chance to preview new products due out this fall, including the Beyblade remote control top with launcher. The free Rip Zone events begin on April 12th and will take place on the second Saturday of every month through October at 200 participating Toys "R" Us locations.
