Dilbert Goes Wireless for FunMail
United Feature Syndicate has licensed Scott Adams’ popular comic strip character, Dilbert, to FunMail Inc. The worldwide provider of carrier-grade, content-driven visual messaging solutions for wireless operators will incorporate images and short animation of the working stiff hero into its line of visual messaging services.
FunMail is expected to make Dilbert available within the next couple months for SMS (short messages) and MMS (multi-media messages) phones and customers of wireless portals including Vodafone, Globe, Smart and MSN. Users will be able to type in any message and a patent-pending language content matching technology will supply the most appropriate Dilbert image or animation to help get the point across.
According to the GSM Association, consumers send over 24 billion wireless short messages per month worldwide.
