Cartoon Network Seeks Powerpuff Girls Models

Girl power is in demand as Cartoon Network calls for girls 6-16 to enter its Style Heroes Model Search for a chance to represent Powerpuff Girls Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles on television and in photo shoots for top fashion catalogs and publications. The promotion was announced today at the International Licensing Show in New York City by Cartoon Network senior director of marketing Julie Gibbons.

“We’re looking for the embodiment of female kick-butt attitude,” says Gibbons. “It’s up to all those girls out there to send us entry forms and tell us why they deserve to show the world their super-powerful personality.”

The Style Heroes Model Search is open to U.S. citizens. Entry forms are now available for download at www.ppgstyle.com. Focusing on entrants’ core values and character, entries will be judged on questions describing how girls save the day in their town. Judges from ElleGirl magazine and Delia’s and Alloy catalogs will choose nine finalists–three for each character–whose information will be uploaded at www.ppgstyle.com. Users of the site will select the ultimate winners.

Entries will be received until midnight August 11 and must be postmarked by August 9, 2004. Winners will be revealed in fall 2004 on Cartoon Network’s popular Fridays franchise. A donation will be made to a charity specified by each of the three winners, who will also take an action-packed trip to Atlanta, Georgia.
