Breakthrough Animation Inc., the newly established animation production, marketing and distribution division of Canadian producer Breakthrough Films & Television, has signed six new apparel and merchandise licensees for its Atomic Betty property. The company will preview a series of product lines at this year’s MAGIC Marketplace conference Aug. 30 through Sept. 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The new licensees and their respective product categories include Sara Lee for packaged girls’ underwear, Jacques Moret for junior intimate apparel, Kids Headquarters for girls’ pajamas, Ripple Junction for teen specialty apparel, Wiesner Products for slippers and footwear and A.D. Sutton for travel bags, cosmetic cases, backpacks and luggage.

The new agreements were announced by Joy Tashjian, president of JTMG LLC., licensing agent for Breakthrough Animation. “The Atomic Betty character has quickly gained international recognition from broadcasters and licensees alike,” she coments. “We are pleased to welcome our newest licensees, each of whom has established a reputation for bringing high-quality products to the marketplace, and look forward to welcoming new licensing partners at MAGIC for this highly anticipated series.”

The Atomic Betty animated series follows the adventures of Betty, whose double life as a Galactic Guardian and Defender of the Universe takes her on a whirlwind journey through space. The property is currently licensed to over 55 territories worldwide. The series is part of the new fall lineup on Cartoon Network.
