Fathom Studios, producer of the upcoming, star-studded, independent CG fantasy feature Delgo, has entered into a partnership with Joy Tashjian Marketing Group and a multi-format publishing agreement with Price Stern Sloan, a division of Penguin Young Readers Group.
Joy Tashjian formerly served as president of Worldwide Merchandising and Sales for DIC Ent. from 1982 to 1998. There she was responsible for the successful development of several brands, including Madeline, Sailor Moon, Inspector Gadget and World Wrestling Federation in addition to several ABC Saturday morning network series.
"We’re pleased to be working with Joy and excited to announce the Penguin deal," says Delgo producer and co-director Marc F. Adler. "Joy is a veteran of leveraging unique brands in entertainment and as the third largest publisher in the U.S., Penguin knows how to reach readers of all ages and we’re thrilled to have them capture the magic of Delgo‚ for reading audiences."
No details on specific products to be produced under these deals have been released at this time.
Still in production, Delgo is the first theatrical production from Atlanta-based Fathom Studios. The film is set in a divided land where a troubled youth and some unlikely friends must save the world from itself. “Digital Dailies” from the movie can be viewed at http://www.delgo.com.
The film boasts a voice cast including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Val Kilmer, Anne Bancroft, Chris Kattan, Kelly Ripa, Eric Idle, Michael Clarke Duncan, Malcolm McDowell, Burt Reynolds, and Lou Gossett, Jr. The actor voicing the lead character, Delgo, has not yet been announced.
