Stinky Toon Wins Flash Award

Zoolook Ent. and Mediatemple announced the winners of The Greatest Story Never Told, a worldwide creative storytelling competition designed to encourage and promote the use of Macromedia FlashMX. The top prize went to Stinkytoons Presents: Shopping at the BigMart when awards were handed out at an industry party in San Francisco.

Mark Greene’s four-minute comedy short Shopping at the BigMart (www.stinkytoons.com) follows Stinky "the nastly little office man" as he goes to pick up some cheese. As the grand prize winner, U.S.-based Greene will receive a laundry list of software products and services including Media Temple Hosting for life, Studio MX 2004 with Flash Professional, Alias Maya Cmplete 5, discreet’s 3ds max 6 and Plasma and FlashAnts SWF2Video Pro 1.

First runner-up is Bitey of Brackenwood (www.biteycastle.com) from Adam Phillips of Australia. Running 4.5 minutes, the short tells the story of Bitey, the fastest thing on the tiny forest planet of Brackenwood, who learns that you can’t outrun the consequences of being nasty.

Kirk Millett’s Souvenir (www.veenuop.com) took the second runner-up spot. Produced in the U.S., the 5.45-minute-long adventure focuses on an artifact that may be a reminder of the past or a key to the future.

The People’s Choice Award went to Magniv (www.minymo.com) from Oren Mashkoushi and Dov Walles of Israel. With a title that means "cool dude" in Hebrew, the 3.5-minute-long short is based on a song with the same title by Kob and features the coolest dude in Tel-Aviv teaching the audience how to be as cool as him.
