Lasseter Talks Toys on YouTube

Disney’s chief creative officer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker John Lasseter goes web2.0 today to introduce the new Toy Story Definitive toy line of hyper-accurate film replicas’just in time for the re-release of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3-D this October. Beginning this week and continuing with two new videos each week until the completion of the seven-part series, YouTube will host Lasseter’s personal profile and trivia for each character’including Woody, Buzz, Rex and the squeaky space aliens’on the site’s Disney Living channel.

Lasseter will also discuss the impressive details of each toy (even including the original packaging seen in the films). The replicas are produced by Thinkway Toys and Disney Consumer Products and are fully articulated, with extra features like sound effects worked in, and come with certificates of authenticity to make them a collector’s dream.

The replicas are available at mass retailers, Disney Stores and through www.disneystores.com.
