First Online Star Wars Store Opens

Lucasfilm today opened the virtual doors of its first online store with the launch of StarWarsShop.com. The site features an extensive selection of exclusive Star Wars collectibles and memorabilia such as artwork, statues, books, stationary, clothing, toys and video games.

Among the best sellers listed on StarWarsShop.com are exclusive products based on Cartoon Network’s animated microseries Star Wars: Clone Wars. Fans can purchase everything from posters to check book covers featuring the cartoon versions of Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan-Kenobi and others. These items aren’t cheap, though. A Clone Wars boxed pin set goes for $44.95.

Lucasfilm recently announced that the highly anticipated final chapter of the Star Wars feature film saga, Episode III, will be released in North America on Thursday, May 19, 2005.
