DIC Ent. and Internet company Yahoo! Inc. will launch Yahooligans! TV (http://yahooligans.yahoo.com). The cross-programming initiative is designed to drive online and on-air viewership of DIC cartoons and expand broadband content offerings on Yahoo!. It will also mark the first time that any of DIC’s programming has been available online.
Yahooligans! TV will feature animated content from DIC’s library of more than 3,000 half-hours of children’s programming, including Liberty’s Kids, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century, Super Duper Sumos, Inspector Gadget, Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? and Madeline.
"Kids today are spending equal amounts of time watching TV and surfing online so this is a way to reach them through both mediums," says DIC Ent. president Brad Brooks. "Our strategic partnership with the world’s leading global Internet company guarantees unlimited opportunities for DIC’s programming to reach an even broader audience of young online consumers of animated content, and affords us the opportunity to offer advertisers a cross-platform purchase."
DIC Kids Network launched to high ratings in September 2003 on major broadcast outlets, including local FOX, WB and UPN affiliates. The three-hour programming block offers three separate exclusive programming feeds, along with a Spanish language feed on virtually every series for the SAP channel.
