U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 has teamed with animation houses Aardman and Lupus Films to offer a new animation website, according to Daily Variety. Dubbed 4mations, the ad-supported video-sharing site launched on Monday with a sampling of animation from around the globe.
Like YouTube and other sites driven by user-generated content, the site allows animators to upload their work for others to view and comment on. However, some animators will be paid for their content and others will be able to pitch projects for commission and jockey for featured slots. The site is currently seeking games as well as all types of animation.
