The National Film Board of Canada has arrived on the iPad.
The organization has made the app available to users of the tablet computer device free of charge through the Apple iTunes store and the NFB’s download page at nfb.ca.
The app allows users to watch more than 1,000 films from the NFB’s library, including its extensive selection of animated shorts and some films in high-definition and 3D.
The app will stream the films to iPads over Wi-Fi and 3G wireless networks. Users also will able to download and store films for two days to view offline.
The app has the same features as the NFB’s iPhone app but has been optimized to take advantage of the inherent qualities of the iPad.
