Bandai Launches dot-anime

Bandai Visual USA Inc. today announced the launch dot-anime (, a North American version of the successful Japanese website dedicated to bringing anime directly to fans via the Internet. Visitors can watch more than 400 titles and 4,000 episodes, download thousands of anime songs and purchase DVDs and CDs related to Japanese animation.

Bandai Visual USA titles included on dot-anime include such popular franchises as Patlabor The Movie, Gunbuster, Wings of Rean, Demon Prince Enma, Galaxy Angel Rune and the recently released Freedom, the first anime production to debut in the U.S. in the HD DVD/DVD twin format.

The site has launched its initial phase, with multimedia content expected to be added this fall. Anime fans who register before Aug. 1 will be eligible to win an HD DVD player and collectible items signed by noted anime creators, as well as 200 bonus points as part of a point-prize program on the site. Anime enthusiasts can also purchase Bandai Visual USA and Broccoli DVDs, Broccoli books and manga, apparel and character merchandise on the site. Consumers who make purchases on the site will periodically receive exclusive dot-anime gifts.
