June 19, 2003 by Ryan Ball divider image

Animation Magazine contributor and Animation Art Conservation director Ron Barbagallo has launched the new web site www.animationartconservation.com. The site is the first to have authorized use of copyrighted Disney images and features categorized examples of his work in animation art repair.

Barbagallo’s Toluca Lake, Calif.-based conservation practice is devoted to the ethical repair and preservation of classic animation art. His clients have included Walt Disney Feature Animation, Warner Bros., Hanna-Barbera, United Productions of American (UPA), Christie’s East and Linda Jones Enterprises. His work can also be seen in museums, galleries and private collections including those of Stephen Ison and Roy E. Disney.

Also included on the site is a chronological listing of articles documenting the history of the animation art market over the past decade. The newest of these articles showcases current animation art and reviews the careers of Ruth Clampett, Laura Kessler, Merrie Lasky and Linda Jones Clough.
