8/8/02 The Doctor Is In At Golden Web Awards

With 158 stories published and distributed all over Europe and Canada for more than three decades, humanitarian superhero Doctor Justice is still going strong. Galfo Films and independent writer/producer Frederic Galfo announced that the website www.doctorjustice has received the Golden Web Award for 2002-03.

The creation of French and Italian cartoonists Jean Ollivier and Raphaël Marcello, Doctor Justice has devoted his life to helping victims of sickness, poverty and corruption. His "license to heal" has been witnessed in a major comic book series, magazines and online adventures — which will continue in September with the episode, Lord of the Pacific Island Part 2. The series will resume with new features and free services online as well.

Presented by the International Association of Webmasters & Designers (I.A.W.M.D.), the Golden Web Awards recognize excellence in web design, originality and content. Top 10 winners include altoids.com (Altoids), kloud9.net (Kloud 9) and shitokai.com (Shitoryu Karate Do Cyber Academy). For a complete list of winners, go to www.goldenwebawards.com.

Galfo Films also announced Kevin Eastman as its new member among the Defender and Friends of Justice. Eastman, a self-taught artist who created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is currently the owner/publisher of the comic magazine Heavy Metal.
