Warner Bros. Wrestles Up Halloween Scares
As further evidence that Halloween-themed entertainment is almost as big a Christmas, Warner Home Video is releasing three more ghost-centric titles later this month for All Saints’ Eve 2004. The new titles are more adventures from Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry and Mucha Lucha. In keeping with the spirit of the season, all purchases will come with a bag of candy.
“Halloween has crept up to become the second biggest family holiday,” says Jeff Baker, WHV vice president, franchise marketing. “By introducing three new titles as well as bringing back family favorites, WHV is giving retailers all the tools they need to satisfy their customers.”
What’s New Scooby Doo?: Space Ape at the Cape and Mucha Lucha: Heart of Lucha will be available for a suggested retail price of $19.98 DVD and $14.94 VHS. Tom and Jerry: Hijinks and Shrieks goes for $19.98 DVD and $9.94 VHS. The titles will be in stores August 19, 2003.
Among other classic Halloween WHV titles that will be part of the 2004 push: Beetlejuice, The Goonies, Gremlins, Gremlins 2 and Scooby-Doo Meets Batman, available for $19.98 DVD and $14.94 VHS. Available only on VHS are Halloween-themed stories featuring popular cartoon characters including–Casper’s Halloween, The Flintstones: A Haunted House Is Not A Home, The Halloween Tree, Scarecrow, Scooby-Doo: A Halloween Hassle at Dracula’s
Castle and Scooby-Doo: The Headless Horseman of Halloween, all at $9.94 SRP each.
