Disney Home Entertainment will release the Pixar movie Up on DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 10 ‘ the same day the studio will release for the first time on Blu-ray its 2001 hit Monsters, Inc.
Up will be released in three editions: a four-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack ($45.99), a two-disc DVD that includes a digital copy of the film ($39.99) and a one-disc DVD ($29.99).
The bonus features for the film include a commentary from director Pete Docter and co-director Bob Peterson; an all new short film titled Dug’s Special Mission; the short film Partly Cloudy that played before the movie in theaters; a documentary on the filmmakers’ own quest to South America and a featurette on the many ways the filmmakers thought up to dispose of the villain, Muntz.
Additional features for the Blu-ray release are a montage of art, clips and documentary images that illustrate the commentary; character studies of Carl and Russell; a featurette on designing and animating dog characters, a Global Guardians Badge Game, and more.
Monsters, Inc., also directed by Docter, comes to Blu-ray as a two-disc release that includes a digital copy of the film for a retail price of $39.99.
In addition to the bonus features included in the original DVD release, the Blu-ray edition includes a filmmakers’ round table, a sneak peek at the Monsters, Inc. attraction at Tokyo Disneyland, a Roz’s 100 Door Challenge game, and BD-Live features.
