Disney Opens Vault for ‘Bambi: Diamond Edition’ Blu-ray

Disney has opened its vault once again to release the beloved classic Bambi on Blu-ray.

Bambi: Diamond Edition (Disney, $29.99 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray/DVD or two-disc Blu-ray) features several new bonus features, including two never-before-seen deleted scenes, a deleted song and a digital exclusive “The Golden Age.” This version of the film will be released on standard DVD April 19.

Also out this week is the live-action direct-to-video feature Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster (Warner Bros., $27.95 DVD, $35.99 Blu-ray), based, of course, on the classic Hanna-Barbera animated series.

For the children, this week’s new releases include Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams (HIT Entertainment, $14.98), Thomas & Friends: Pop Goes Thomas (HIT Entertainment, $14.98) and Sid the Science Kid Collection (NCircle Entertainment, $24.99).

This week’s hot anime release is Beyblade: Metal Fusion, Vol. 3 (Vivendi, $14.97).
