‘Batman: Brave and the Bold’ and ‘Barbie: A Fairy Secret’ on DVD

It’s the Caped Crusader and the world’s favorite doll swooping in to the rescue with new video releases perfectly timed to stave off bouts of boredom.

Batman: The Brave & the Bold, Season 1, Part 2 (Warner Bros., $14.97) brings 13 episodes from the Cartoon Network series that teams up the Dark Knight with other DC Comics heroes. This batch of episodes includes guest appearances from Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger and The Atom.

This set also includes the musical episode, in which Batman takes on the Music Meister, voiced by Neil Patrick Harris. The episode was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score).

This week also sees the release of Dinosaur Train: Pteranodon Family World Tour Adventure (Paramount, $14.99), Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Galactic Battles, Vol 1 and Vol.2 (VIZ Media, each volume $14.97, $24.92 two-disc DVD) and a double-feature reissue of Snoopy, Come Home / A Boy Named Charlie Brown (Paramount, $16.99).
