Animated ‘Thor’ to Hammer DVD Competition

Thor, Marvel’s powerful God of Thunder is sitting on top of the new animated DVD releases list of the week. The new direct-to-DVD Thor: Tales of Asgard is the eighth in series of animated films produced by Marvel Animation and distributed by Lionsgate Entertainment. Timed to coincide with the release of the live-action blockbuster Thor in theaters (which has made $344.5 million globally to date), this 2D animated prequel is directed by Sam Liu and written by Greg Johnson. The feature centers on young Thor and his brother Loki’s search for the Lost Sword of Surtur.
